Responsibility, awareness, sustainability. But most of all urgency: sustainability is no longer postponable and concerns everyone. Starting with profit-making companies, which must learn to work for their own success but also for the common good, reconciling business with attention to the environment and society.

Non-profit associations, on the other hand, are asked to be able not only to manage the funds raised correctly but also to obtain the maximum result for the beneficiaries. Finally, greater efficiency, fairness in the management of public affairs and transparency are expected from the Public Administration.

By 2050, the world population will reach 9 billion. Global warming and climate change are now a globally recognized trend. With such growth prospects, if the ways of producing and consuming do not change, in 2030 the resources of 2.3 planets will be needed for the survival of all the inhabitants of the Earth, as the Global Footprint Network WBCSD Vision 2050 highlights.

"The topic is on the agenda a Rio + 20, the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development - underlines Rossella Sobrero of the promoting group of From saying to doing, the most important event in Italy dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility - and the urgency is to quickly reach a profound change that involves both businesses and consumers in a new and more constructive relationship. The company can suggest to the consumer a more informed use of products and services, thus playing an educational role. However, the company must also be able to listen to ideas, suggestions and stimuli that come from increasingly attentive and responsible citizens ".
